I've installed Parallels and XP on my new MacBook Pro, but I'm having problems getting it to recognize one of our network printers, an HP LaserJet 5000 PS. Installed Bonjour and that found the newer HP LJ 5100 at the other end of the office, but not the 5000, which is the one I need. Tried to find it by it's IP address and every other way I could think of in XP's printer wizard, but no luck. Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Tim

I use my IP printer by just putting "http://<ip address here>" as the URL for the printer when adding the printer in XP. Works fine.

You can try going to Apple Menu>System Preferences>Printer & Faxes. Select your desired printer and turn on Printer Sharing. When you switch to Windows, run Bonjour again. It should detect the new printer. This method worked for me both for Windows under Parallels Desktop as well as for a physical Windows machine.

    Good luck.

Bingo. Printer sharing plus Bonjour did the trick. Thanks!
