Just installed Parallels. When shutting down the VM, it goes through the normal shut down but then hangs up at the "windows is shutting down" page of shutdown.. The only way to start it back up is to force quit using parallels ie; stop play on plls menu, then start on plls menu and it will boot. If open plls and don't do this, the VM will sit until forced. ??? Is this the normal way for the program to act? I'm asking cause I've only just started to learn the program.
Hello MJJ700, It is not supposed to act like this. The issue can be caused either by some application, holding Windows or some device. - Close all applications and all antivirus programs before shutdown. - Remove Floppy from the current virtual machine configuration by means of Configuration Editor. - Remove a USB Controller from the current virtual machine configuration. (It is probably a USB controller malfunction). Best regards, Xenos
Thanks much, disabling the antivirus solved the problem. Looking forward to getting into the program. Very happy with the way it runs, interfaces and just generally looks cool.
