Is SP2 necessary?

The Parallels list of compatible OS's lists XP Pro SP0 as being ok. I have a retail version that does not have SP2 but I have read elsewhere that SP2 is required.

Can anyone confirm that my version is ok?

Maybe the confusion is that bootcamp requires SP2. Parallels doesn't.

 

You dont have to install SP2 but without it your system has big security holes !!

 

Without SP2 you will not able to use USB2.0 and Bluetooth. It's only your choice, of course.
