Just bought PD 4.0. I already have my Mac configured for Boot Camp and am running Win XP SP 3 and two programs that I need. Is there an easy way to install PD 4.0 that allows me to run these two applications, without having to re-install Win XP and these applications? Or, am I making too much of a big deal about the installation of PD 4.0 and it actually goes quickly and painlessly?

Simply use the Boot Camp partition as the drive for a new VM. It will give you that option when you create a new VM.

    Hello,

In addition to the strells reply (just a bit expand it)

Start Parallels Desktop -> Select Custom installation and on the step "Specify the virtual hard disk to be used in the virtual machine" - Boot Camp Partition

Thanks. PD appears to be working for me fairly nicely in the cohesive mode. I'm just a basic user of PD, using it to run Quicken and a simple, yet Windows only scheduling program, should I install the tools?
