iSight camera not recognized

I need to run parallels 6 for one program using windows xp. But it does not find the camera. Is there a way to recognize the built-in iSight or even the older stand alone iSight? I tried to add new hardware in xp but that did not work either. Would windows 7 be able to recognize my hardware? Would using a newer MacBook pro from 2009 be better than a 2006 Mac?

I use snow leopard. I can use either a MacBook pro from 2006 or 2009.
