Issues with mcafee update in v4

My formerly functional work VM is now virtually useless. I have tracked it down to mcudpate.exe and McScript_InUse.exe which are started by McAfee to get updates. Basically the system show 50% idle but in reality it is blocking on something. If I manage to get task manager up I can kill the two process and get relief until it restart the update.

At this point I regret PAYING FOR the update to 4. The answer of disabling AV is comical at best and in reality is probably closer to criminal as it seems to be a ploy to force users into Kaspersky.

Has anyone else seen this or found a work around? I tried a search, but the nearly useless search feature of this site gives me even more reasons to wonder if I am doing business with the right folks.

 

I am not sure what is the problem, if problem is with McAffee why you do not want to contact their support?
Or just describe what is the problem?
Probably reinstalling software will be helpful?
Also why do you want to disable antivirus? it is recommended only in case to trace problem in order to find what is blocking Internet or system, and find solution in that product support,
We do not recommend to use Windows Virtual machine without any antivirus, as Windows is not virus prone system, so antivirus is one of the necessary component if you are using Windows,
Even on my openSuse VM, I am using free AVG antivirus for Linux

as for Kaspersky,
-We do not force users to switch to Kaspersky
- And Kaspersky is free in Parallels Desktop for one year, so I am not sure, why are you talking about some kind of force?
