I am running Parallels 8 on a MacbookPro Retina. I Updated Windows 7 pro to Windows 8 pro, and after everything went through and was working. Upon re-booting at the very end of the upgrade, the keyboard stopped working at the login screen where you enter your password. I have tried clicking on "ease of access" and the onscreen keyboard and the message "Could not start on screen keyboard" pops up ever so quickly then goes away. I found this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/thread...rt=30&tstart=0 With the same issues. I was able to get to the command prompt, (where the keyboard works just fine,) and enable the high level administrator account. It goes through to the desktop skipping the login password and everything works fine. If I click on my regular account at this point the keyboard works and I can enter my password just fine. If I log out of the admin account, the keyboard stops working at the login to windows again and I can't enter my password. This seems like a huge bug. Parallels email tech support has only been able to point me to a generic page about your keyboard not working in version 7, then said to uninstall Parallels and re-install it. This seems like a very generic form response and since I see a lot of people have this issue am very hesitant to do it. Has anyone else here had this problem or know of a solution? Thanks.
