    Hello,
I'm still using PD 6.0.11828 because I read so many negative feedbacks about later versions that I still don't want to risk my currently fine running system carrying 9 VMs (XP-32 and W7-64).

Anyhow: Each release note coming from Parallels gives the advice "this update is highly recommended for all..." and every single new release brings me back thinking about updating... due to the fact that I'm running a quite old release and of cause I'd like to benefit from the improvements in terms of performance and overall errorlessness that might been flown into the product meanwhile.

Therefore, I'd really like to know some runtime facts about the last Parallels release running under OSX 10.6.5 on an MBP 6,2 i7 2.66 GHz, 8 GB, with hires display with no other virtualisation tool installed, MSO 2011, iWorks 09, and XCODE-Installation before I might shoot my system with an update that I (technically spoken) do not need but that I'd like to install due to normal software maintenance process.

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

    so short
    Stefan

    a very understandable question.
and as you are still running 10.6.5, you are not a fanatic updater, like others.

so, if you do not intend to change to Lion in the near future ànd you are happy the way it runs now, I would leave it for now.
once you are ready to go over to Lion, you simply have to update Parallels as well.

I have followed OS X updates very closely and looked very good at what has been written here.
and I have to tell you, that I did not have any problems.

right now, I have Lion and 6.0.12094
    runs like a charme :)
