while troubleshooting a problem with my carbonite online backup the remote help technician appears to have deleted my parallels launchdaemon. of course I seem to have emptied the trash in the meantime (either that or she emptied it into the WinXP trash? but either way I don't see it). this results in a "unable to connect to parallels service" message and I am pointed to this document: http://kb.parallels.com/8089 since there is no longer any launchdaemon by this name, my impression is that these Terminal commands won't take. can anyone suggest a good way to troubleshoot this quickly? i am new to mac and not all that comfortable getting into the Terminal but if it will solve a problem I am happy to get on it. thanks.
