I've noticed that, according to the Docs, PD will only support 2 USB devices. But the iMac I am running PD (Windows XP pro) talks to 6 USB devices (including the mouse and keyboard). I don't have autoconnect on, but have no issue with communicating with everything. Except... Okay, two of the devices are printers. Not your normal desktop printers, but 2 little thermal printers. The application I am running on Windows XP Pro talks directly to them, and seems to do so just fine. As stated, I don't use Autoconnect for the USB. Instead I either go to the menu or the USB icon in the bottom corner, and select the two printers. They then appear in the device manager, and normally work. But one of them keeps showing up with a ! in device manager for "USB Printer Support" more often then not. (Sometimes is just fine.) The "solution" is to REMOVE the "USB Printing Support" for that particular printer (I can leave the instance for the other one alone) from Device Manager, then tell Device Manager to scan for new hardware, and it will find it, ask for the driver (Windows wants to default to pulling the driver off of a CD, rather than realized it is already in the System folder), and then it works. Until the next reboot. Needless to say, it is a pain to do this every single time. I don't know why this happens with just one printer and not the other. And i'm not sure why this happens in the first place. This is frustrating as everything WILL work, but I just have to reconnect the one printer manually almost every time. Anyone have any ideas as what to try? Thanks!
