I've recently noticed a deterioration in my MacBook Pro performance after reducing physical ram from 2gb to 1gb. I noticed a lot of drive thrash from llipd though Parallels was not loaded. It appears that both llipd and pvsnatd run constantly regardless of whether Parallels is loaded or not.

    Is this really necessary?

Is there a configuration switch to disable these items after unloading Parallels?

    From a recent PS:
