Hello everyone, I have a problem with mapping local shares to application server. I’m using win2000 sp4 t/s with application server v.5.0. Everything works except local shares mapping. I have enable local recourses disk drive option, but local drives does not appears on client when I'm ready to save file. The client OS is win XP Pro sp2. Upgrade to win 2K3 is not an option at this time. Is anything I can do to make it work? Thanks in advance.
Hi there, Win2000 does not support drive redirection naively. But if i am not mistaken there is a patch from Microsoft that enables drive redirection on win2000 Nixu
I checked Microsoft site and could not find a patch for it. If you have any info, can you please give a link for it?
look here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/272519/ http://support.microsoft.com/kb/244725/EN-US/ but it is PITA to deploy and administer other options are - to use ICA if you're willing to spent $$$ - to upgrade to win2k3
Workaround for shares in W2K Server. I am running the same config as dima. I solved the problem for my users this way; 1. Share the users local My Documents folder, setting security to the specific user only. 2. Login to TS as the user and map users shared drive to the TS. Set the mapped drive to reconnect at logon. I set all my users TS mapped drive to P: for personal. If they save a document into their P: drive it appears in their My Documents folder. While this may not be the best way, it is a reliable and workable solution.
Thanks, that what I did too week ago. As you told, there is not many ways we can make it works as Win 2003 server would.
