Hi - I had 80GB free space on my Macbook when I installed Parallels. After a number of months I realised I didn't ever need to use Windows again so uninstalled. The remaining memory was still 50GB.

I calculated everything that is on the Mac and I'm still missing 30GB somewhere. Installed Parallels again and it went down to 20GB. Uninstalled it at it went back to 50GB.

Does anyone know of what might be the cause, and how to fix it? I'm adamant that it's something to do with Parallels and 30GB is a whole lot of memory for space and performance!

Thanks in advance for anything, as basic as it may seem to you, that I may have overlooked when installing / uninstalling this tasty piece of software.

30GB accounts exactly for the default virtual hard disk size of a Windows installation in Parallels. What means is that you uninstalled Parallels but you still have your VM under ~/Documents/Parallels/. If you don't need it (the Windows installation and Parallels) anymore you can delete this Parallels folder.
