I was moving files onto my desktop while in Windows 2008 image, and get an image that the image was no longer valid. After trying to open the file several times, I removed the pvm from the virtual machine list, on double clicking the image, I got a response that said the bundle was invalid.

To try to fix things, I moved a config.pvs file to the same directory and was excited to see that the file opened, but windows is trying to do a fresh install. In order to get at my data, I loaded the pvm as an image, but couldn't find any of the data there, even though the file is 14 GB.

    My directory structure looks like:

    drwx--x--x 2 Tim staff 68 Oct 14 20:37 Snapshots
    drwx--x--x@ 9 Tim staff 306 Oct 14 18:28 Windows Server 2008.pvm
    -rwx------ 1 Tim staff 17563 Oct 14 21:54 config.pvs
    -rwx------ 1 Tim staff 17563 Oct 14 21:54 config.pvs.backup
    -rw-rw-rw- 1 Tim staff 177373 Oct 14 21:56 parallels.log
    -rw-r--r-- 1 root staff 1407 Oct 14 21:54 statistic.log

I am really hopeful that I can get access to my files. Please advise.

    Regards,

    Tim

What is the path of those files? What's inside the .pvm? Does it have an .hdd? Your data is probably in the .hdd. The config.pvs needs to have its hard disk setting point to the .hdd. Can you mount the .hdd by opening it with Parallels Mounter?
