Low screen resolution

    When I start XP I get a very low screen resolution and a Windows message to click the balloon to fix it, nothing happens. When I go into "Settings" I have only one screen resolution available. I also get a message saying that the video driver is for an earlier version of Windows. How can I get a sensible screen resolution?
