I have found other topics describing this problem, but can not find if it has been fixed as yet. We have a windows 2008 server with mostly windows XP Clients and a couple of Mac OSX clients. The Windows Clients display the applications in High colour with no problem, but the Mac clients seem to login in high colour but changes the applications to 8 bit colour. It would be appreciated if someone could tell me how to fix this or if we are all still waiting for a fix. Thanks
Hello, Could you please provide more information about reported issue? Namely, >> but the Mac clients seem to login in high colour but changes the applications to 8 bit colour. when exactly the change happens? what is displayed when login is considered completed? Is it when application icons are shown or some published application has been launched and session with server started? What setting is set in "Connection properties"->"Local resources" for "Display" icon? is it "High color" or "256 colors"? Please note that on Mac Client icons of published applications are always the same good quality regardless of chosen color in connection properties. Color setting for session is specified in connection properties, and once session started, color settings cannot be changed. Regards, macdev
Thanks MacDev, The 2X connection properties are set to 15bit (High Colour), this is the same setting as the Windows clients and the same as set on the Server (Windows 2008). I have tried changing this setting on the Mac client and relaunching, but it has no effect. When logging into a session, you are able to see the Windows login screen (Same as an RDP connection), this screen starts off in 256 colours then settings are loaded and is changed to High Colour. The application is then launched and is presented in 8 bit (256 colours). The Mac Desktop and any Mac Application remains in true colour. Thanks Glenn
Please specify the resultions used on the windows client and the resultion used on the mac. If you are using multi monitor all resolutions are needed.
Hi Zippo, All Windows PC's but 1 are set to a screen resolution of 1024 X 768 with one set to 1440 X 900. The Mac is set to 1440 X 900. I have tried the Mac on different resolutions but this has no effect on the colour depth. The Windows machine on 1440 X 900, display's the correct colour depth. Thank you Glenn
