I've had a frustrating issue that I can't seem to resolve. I have downgraded versions, reinstalled Parallels Tools, done many restarts of both the VM and the Mac host, and nothing has made a difference.

I use my Windows VM in full screen with multiple monitors. My cursor in Windows shows as the black Mac cursor, instead of the white Windows cursor. The issue with this is that when working in applications where the cursor type changes depending on the context, there is no change to the visible cursor. It remains the standard black Mac cursor.

    Some examples:
    • Excel in Windows - I try to resize a column by clicking and dragging at the border between two columns...
      On my native Windows machine:

      On my Windows Parallels VM:

    • Resizing an application window...

      On my Windows Parallels VM:

These are just a couple examples, but it's the same situation for any other normal cursor (oddly the wait cursor (spinning wheel) seems to work fine).

This makes it very difficult to tell when the mouse is positioned correctly for the task I'm trying to accomplish. Many times, I end up highlighting columns in Excel instead of changing the size, or selecting the window behind when trying to resize the window in front, etc, because the cursor position wasn't quite right, but there is no way to tell since the cursor doesn't change. If you get the cursor in the right spot, it WILL do the expected task, it just won't change state so that you know it's positioned properly.

    Any ideas?
