I have a mid-2012 MBP with a SSD, OS 10.7.4, and Parallels v7 running XP. My installation is running with no issues, but I noticed that the basic Mac system boot takes longer after running my Parallels. If I reset my PRAM, the startup is fast again ... until I run Parallels again. Doing a verbose startup indicates a lot of activity related to Parallels.

Is there a way to suppress storing whatever is put into the PRAM? My startup performance would dramatically improve if there is. BTW, there is no noticeable difference in the way my virtual machine starts up and runs after a PRAM reset. Seems like there is not good reason for storing this info in the PRAM, unless someone can explain why it is.

A follow up to this issue ... At the time of the slow start ups, improved by PRAM resets, I had an OCZ Vertex 4 SSD installed. There were other compatibility issues isolated this drive, so I replaced it with an OWC Mercury Extreme. All of my problems resolved with this hardware change, including this one. That would explain why nobody had any ideas, I suppose. Anyway, this issue was caused by the OCZ hardware, and I will attempt to close out this item at this time.
