Make Firefox My Default Browser from Win to Mac?

This morning I actually spent some time looking at the Parallels manual and discovered that it is possible to connect links in a Windows application (i.e. email) to the MacOS Browser by setting Preferences in Parallels accordingly.

I managed to find and change the setting, and when I click a hyper link in my Windows email client (Eudora), it opens in Safari in the Mac OS.

However, I would like to use Firefox as my default browser in the Mac OS. I like Safari but you can't rearrange open tabs like you can with Firefox (or maybe you can and it's just not intuitive enough for me to figure how...). So I have installed Firefox on the MacOS side of things, and when I installed it I instructed it to be my default browser in the MacOS.

Trouble is, when I click a link in Windows, it still wants to link to Safari, and the "preferences" option I found only lets me designate "MacOS" - not the browser of choice.

So, how do I get my Windows email client to open links in MacOS/Firefox, instead of Safari?

    Thanks,

Have you set firefox as default browser on the mac side?

Start safari and change default browser...

    Been There, Tried That.

Apparently so. I looked at "default browser" settings in Firefox, and it says "Firefox."

I also checked "default browswer" settings in Safari, and IT said "Firefox."

I also tried closing/reopening the email client in Windows, still opens links in Mac/Safari.

So is there something else I need to set/unset to get it all to open in Firefox instead of Safari?

You think a reboot of both OS's would do any good? Seems to me I should be able to get this to work without doing that. But I've been wrong before....

    Thanks,

    driver49,

Try switching the Default Browser setting in PD Preferences to "Default" then hitting OK and to "Windows", then applying again. Try opening some links and see if changes apply, then change the setting back to "Mac OS" and see if it helps.
We are aware of the problem you are describing, but unfortunately it's quite difficult to reproduce it in-house to pinpoint what causes it, this bug is quite accidental But the described above should fix it.

Thanks, Spectre... I think you solved the problem.

I went into the "Shared web applications" in the PD prefs, like you suggested, and toggled in and out of a couple of settings. For some reason, I toggled one time into "Web pages: open in Windows" -- and when I clicked on a link in Eudora in my XP window... lo and behold, it opened in Firefox in the MacOS. Doesn't seem logical that that option would produce that result, but that's what I want, so I'm taking it. Once again... not messing with success.

    Thanks,
