I have a law firm client that recently migrated from Windows to Mac. They use Timeslips extensively to track billable time. Right now things are configured as follows: 1. Timeslips database is hosted on a Windows 2000 Server VM that was migrated from a physical Dell server. Migration went well and everything seems to be working in the application itself. 2. Clients are running Windows 2000 and Windows XP VMs with Timeslips installed. A logon script maps the client to the Timeslips server so the application can find the database. 3. All systems are using the latest production release of 3.0. Problem I'm having is that the mapped drive disconnects at seemingly random times. Some times there is no connection available to the server, other times there's a red X on the server connection icon, but the connection works if you double click the network volume icon. Obviously, this is causing problems as users are receiving errors when they try to access Timeslips. I saw another thread discussing mapped drives dropping from June, but it had no definitive explanation or workaround. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks in advance! Tom
I'm still working on this issue. For now, I've set three clients to Bridged networking instead of shared networking. Will post back once I have some results. If anyone else has ideas or experiences to share, feel free to jump in, else I'll keep talking to myself. ;-)
