    Hi,

MPB 13 from February 2011 with latest SL
    Model Identifier: MacBookPro8,1
Chipset Model: Intel HD Graphics 3000
    Running updated Parallels

running W7 Home, installed Origin (new EA online shop) downloaded Mass Effect. It runs fine and quick, but all dynamic textures have this flickering black spots on them (I can make a screenshot or a video should it help). Static textures are good, they actually look great.
I tried about all settings in the game, but it looks like it is not to do with graphipcs settings of the game.

Chipset Model: Intel HD Graphics 3000

I am in a process of installing XP to see if it works there...

    thanks for all suggestions,
    Jirka

Finished installing XP and Mass Effect on it. Same result, see attached screen (you need to imagine flickering :).

Downloaded new Duke Nukem demo to see if it has the same symptoms, but it crashes after the splash screen.

By the way, Parallels are great, all the work stuff I use them for works perfect! Even though the game doesnt work well, i already had a great gaming experience by copying the game files from VM with W7 to VM with XP :)

to help possible future googlers, i will share how i resolved this:

Tested on my wife's iMac from 2008: Works fine both in Bootcamp and Parallels.
Therefore installed bootcamp on my MPB and ran Mass Effect there with ultra high details game plays smooth and nice.

Next logical test is try to open the bootcamp W7 via Parallels to see if it makes any difference, but it would involve a major clean up on my 128 SSD drive so it may take a while.
