Since updating to Version 4.0.3844 I am experiencing a dramatic system slowdown. System specs are: MBP 2.16ghz, 2 gig RAM, 200 gig hard drive, Windows XP installed as the VM Upon launch of Parallels my fans cut on high, the Guest OS is extremely sluggish. Once I quite the Guest OS the fans cycle off, then on again; system performance is noticeably slower but not as bad. Unsure what do check or do??
Hello Stephen, 1. The easiest way to fix the problem and get fast OS boot time again is to leave the VM being idle for 30-60 minutes.OS starts to optimize itself after ~30 minutes of being idle. 2. Run cmd.exe (shell interpreter) and execute the following command: start /wait Rundll32.exe advapi32.dll,ProcessIdleTasks This command takes 2-3 minutes to complete after that applications and OS will be optimized out again.
