I just installed Parallels and Win7 64bit on my iMac.

I installed Max 2009 32 and 64 bit. I want to run Backburner Server and use it as a render node.

If i run the server it does not connect to the Manager on another computer.

    Any ideas?

I am also having problems getting the Win7 Homegroup on another machine. I managed to map a drive but had to do it through Parallels instead of directly for some reason. Not sure if that is related or not.

Any help on this would be much appreciated. Under the gun on a project of course.

Ok worked with a friend who uses Parallels and he had me set my Network to Default Adapter (Bridged)
And i can now map my network drive properly and the Backburner Server will connect no problem.

I cant test any rendering yet as i still need to set up some plugins. Will post an update on that when i get it done.

Ok i have it rendering. Seems to be working fine except it is very slow.... Any ideas on boosting the render power of this beast? It is a Quad core i7. Should be pretty quick

    Ok latest on this...

I had my CPUs set to 1 which is the default but it is a Quad i7 running Win7 64 so it let me set it to 8 and that is way faster..

Now that being said it is still taking a performance hit from a regular machine. I have a PC i7-920 running and then my iMac is a 2.8 GHZ which would be a 930 i guess and it is rendering about 11% slower then my PC so not bad. I did not buy this iMac for rendering but as a bonus i am pretty happy.

If anyone knows how to improve this even a little i would love to know how.
