I'm running Linux Mint 17.1 Cinnamon. After parallels tools is installed, the desktop displays in the proper resolution, currently it's full screen on my external display at 1920x1080. However the MDM greeter does not go above 1024x768. I've installed the same Linux Mint 17.1 within Virtualbox and the MDM greeter shows the proper resolution to match the desktop. I have looked through the Xorg.0.log file and found the line where the resolution is set, but am unable to force a higher resolution using xrandr within the mdm.conf file. I've attached the Xorg.0.log file from the MDM greeter session.
