Microphone volume low and unusable

I spend a good majority of my day on WebEx meetings and tend to use the feature to dial in using my laptop. With VMware Fusion 6 I had no issues using my microphone on my Macbook Retina. Since moving from Fusion to Parallels everyone says they can barely hear me and I sound distant. I did some testing myself and they are right, its nearly impossible to hear me unless i am shouting. I tried to adjust the mic volume from both Mac and inside the Windows VM, but it doesnt make a difference. Help? This issue is occurring on all of my VMs; Windows 7, 8, and Ubuntu.
