This crash seems a bit obscure, but it's one I've had trouble with going back to Parallels 7 and earlier versions of Windows, Word, Mac OS X, and on earlier hardware. Has anyone else run into something like this? I had forgotten about it because I switched to VMware Fusion, but now that I'm trying Parallels again, it's back. Here's the setup: Parallels Desktop 9 (on Mac OS 10.8.5, on a mid-2012 rMBP 15") Windows 8 Microsoft Word 2013 Start Word Open some file, preferably one with a numbered list In the References tab, select "Cross-Reference" from the "Captions" panel. In the dialog box, attempt a two-finger scroll in the "For which numbered item:" list box. Word crashes. This does not occur in VMware Fusion, even if the same VM is converted. I don't have Boot Camp set up to test it there. I do legal work and insert cross-references sometimes dozens of times a day, and I two-finger scroll intuitively, so this is a big inconvenience for me. But it's so obscure I'm guessing it's not a big deal for others. Thanks.
This happens to me as well. My hardware: Parallels Desktop 9 Host: OS X 10.9, on late-2013 rMBP 15" (with discrete GPU) Guest: Windows 7 x64 SP1, Microsoft Word 2010 It's easy to reproduce the crash. Simply open up a new Word document, go to Insert > Symbol > More Symbols, and scroll with 2 fingers in the symbol area. This is quite an irritating bug that needs to be looked into, as it makes Office almost unusable if it can crash so easily. Attached is an image of the crash dialog.
