Successfully migrated one Windows drive to virtual machine on new iMac via Parallels 6. Would like to add a second Windows drive to same Mac. Downloaded onto external drive but on connecting to Mac, received message that migrating was already completed as it was defaulting to the first virtual machine. Is it necessary to buy 2nd copy of Parallels to do this?

you should be able to create a new VM and import the second windows installation to that. if you're trying to combine both drives into one single VM then that's not possible. you don't need to purchase another copy of parallels.
