I'm in the process of converting from the PC world to the Mac world so please be gentle in answering this newby question. If I use Parallels Transporter to migrate the Windows OS from my PC to my MacBook Pro will it render the PC useless?

There wouldn't be much point in it if it would.

I was curious since the documentation mentioned the possibility of reactivation once the migration was completed.

The migrated image (on your Mac) of XP will probably ask for activation since for XP it's a new hardware.

Thanks for the response! Does Parallels support Win XP Media Center Edition SP2. I was told that Media Center is actually XP Pro with media add ins.

It is XP, it should work like XP does, thou in Parallels docs there isn't any reference to it (MC) in the supported OS section.

You can always make a virtual machine and test if it works, if you haven't bought Parallels yet you can download the trial and test it before you buy, and see if it's an adequate solution for your needs.

Thanks again. Already purchased Parallels so worst case is I'll have to get a new copy of Windows.
