Migration successful, but VM won't start

I used Parallels 5.0 to migrate from my OEM Windows Vista to my Mac running Snow Leopard with 4G ram. I used the supplied USB cable.
Both computers indicated the migration was successful. When I clicked on "DONE" on the Mac, a new screen opened advising me to wait while the VM is being configured. There's a progress bar. Eventually, I get an error message that I need to manually configure the VM. But I can't do that because I also get an error message that says "Your computer was unable to start. Startup repair is checking your computer..."

I ran checkdisk on the PC before installing Transporter Agent. I never had a message or window asking for an activation key or anything like that. I spent about 2 hours on the phone with support, but the gentleman I talked with was unable to find the source of the problem.

I have screenshots of the messages but I don't know how to attach them to this message. I appreciate any help anyone might have.
