I have very recently upgraded to version 5 of Parallels and am having (surprisingly!) very few issues. Given the past performance of Parallels in releasing upgrades, I am really pleased. I am also thrilled with the dramatic reduction in CPU usage, esp. when Windows is just idling. But there is one issue that is showing up. I am quite liking the new Crystal view mode but find that, during the course of the day, one or more of my Windows apps lose their icons on the Mac dock, as well as in the Cmd-Tab app switching display. It is not limited to a single app, and I have yet to pin down a reproducible pattern. I am using build 5.0.9308.
Note that I have just updated to the latest build (9310) and the problems continue. Right now, among others, "Windows Explorer", "Microsoft Management Console", and "Internet Explorer" are not displaying icons in the Dock or the MacOS app switcher.
I think I have same issue. See picture. My dock seems to fluctuate based on whether I'm in Crystal or Coherence mode. I've seen the Parallels Start icon replace other application's icons in the dock as well as switch back and forth between apps. At one point I lost all of the dock except for the reflections of the dock icons but the applications themselves seem to keep running ok nonetheless (I could not catch it with grab though).
