I have a 13 inch rMBP running PD8 and an external 1080p Samsung monitor connected via HDMI. I work a lot with Microsoft Office 2010 programs eg excel, Word, PPoint etc. I usually work on 2 screens when running Excel on my PC at work but found I cannot do this with PD8 i.e. I cannot run one excel worksheet on my rMBP and another on my external monitor because in Coherence mode, you can only load Excel once from the dock. This is just one of my problem of two. The second problem is when I move the Excel worksheet screen from the rMBP to the external monitor and load outlook on my MBP, both screens would go black for two seconds and when it returns, the upper most part of the Excel screen is missing on the external monitor. This simply means I cannot close the window using the x icon or select the different menus that are located in this area. I tried all sorts of settings including increasing my video memory (746 mb) and ram beyond the recommended threshold but was still unable to correct the problem. By the way, when it does this, the bottom section of the screen has a gap the size of a windows task bar. It is as if the whole screen has shifted up. Anyone experiencing the same problem that they would like to share? I have the latest version of PD8 and Tools...just updated the software about half an hour ago but the outcome remained the same.
