I have a touch 27" monitor (Acer t27). When I change my screen resolution it modifies the Mac window to a smaller or larger size. If I'm in full screen it will put black bars on each side. Is there anyway I can install the Acer driver for my monitor in W8? It is labeled as the generic windows driver or parallels driver. I think that may be the problem. Windows also can't find the Acer driver because it thinks it's only connected to the parallel's monitor. Any ideas?
You can't and don't need to install a driver for your monitor into a virtual machine. What you do need is install Parallels Tools, which include drivers and services for Parallels' virtual hardware. Do it if you haven't already. One reason for black bars in full screen (besides missing Parallels Tools) may be that you're manually setting display resolution in Windows that has different aspect ratio than your monitor. Normally, when you enter full-screen Parallels will adjust resolution in Windows to match the display. I'm wondering what were you trying to do when changing resolution?
It should be noted that, under Parallels, Windows doesn't see/communicate directly with the monitor(s), it communicates via a virtual GPU to a virtual monitor. The correct drivers for these devices are installed via Parallels Tools.
