ok, i reinstalled parallels...... It installed with no problems... when windows (from a boot camp partition) loads up i can not use my keyboard nor mouse, i am getting a "New Hardware Wizard" pop up, but i can not continue b/c i can not tab to select an option, nor can i use my trackpad for the mouse. I have also tried using USB accessories, but those are not working either. Can someone help me please? Mac osX 10.5.8 17" Mac book Pro Parallels version 4.0.3844 Thanks in advance!
You can try either of the following: First of all, if there are any specific drivers for mouse and keyboard installed in Windows, boot to it natievely and uninstall it, leave only default ones. 1. Since this is a boot camp, you can try recreating the virtual machine. 2. You can boot natievely and try to uninstall Parallels Tools. http://kb.parallels.com/en/5116
I just purchased parallels 4 for running boot camp partition, and ive struggled for the last 3 days to get the mouse and keyboard to work, removed vm's, reinstalled parallels, latest version/cd version, one thing that is weird: the keyboard works when windows is not loaded - i can use it to choose between safemode etc.. ive gone in to boot camp natively and set up two hardware profiles as well (boot camp and parallels) disabled antivirus and firewalls and spywares, set permissions for all registry keys to Everyone, (One of the problems i thought may be because when it boots in the vm it tries to install a driver or something, but the stupid windows signing driver thing pops up, no keyboard or mouse means i cant press ok!) and ive had no luck at turning off the driver warning either. I copied the parallel tools win iso to the boot camp, and installed it natively a couple of hundred times to no avail, uninstalled the keyboard and mouse (nothing special - just standard HID ones) and reinstalled them, This is driving me up the wall - whatever happened to the "Just Works (tm)" philosophy ive grown to love.... i tried every possible way to disable driver signing (except for hacking sysinstall.dll - i did try but couldnt find the values mentioned - D.r.i.v.e.r.S.i.g.n etc.. in a hex editor) Ive set group policies, changed security settings to absolute minimal (read - no security). Ive turned on autologin, im running a white intel MacBook OSX 10.5.6 dual core 1 gig ram Ive also noticed that parallels crashes osx a lot (sorry im not more help here, but the error message is a pretty snazzy "You need to restart your computer, hold the power button for several seconds or press the reset button" - dunno where/if there are any logs please help me, otherwise I might just have to take up that money back guarantee.
