I'm trying to install F1 2011 for my son on an iMac with intel core 2 duo 3.06Ghz and 4GB of RAM, both these are above the spec of the game. However the gas won't run, reporting that the CPU is not multicore and doesn't support hyper threading. I understand that the CPU is multicore and does support hyper threading - is this a CPU issue, a game issue or a parallels issue? VM is Windows XP SP3.
The REAL CPU is multi-core, meaning, that's how OSX sees it, but the VM (XP) only sees how any cores you have configured (one by default, probably) to use in the VM. Choose the VM > Configure > General > CPUs, and assign more cores. Note: Assigning more cores will most likely make OSX less responsive.
