My XP boot camp partition won't boot. I get a black screen. Parallels VM of boot camp partition boots fine. So did versions prior to 3188. PD created this. Any suggestions, please?

Load Windows in safe mode and re-install your Boot Camp drivers.

Parallels works but it broke Boot Camp

    Eru,
My Parallels VM of BC functions fine. Why mess with it? Booting in Boot Camp causes the black screen. It would make sense to reinstall my BC drivers if I could boot in safe mode. But I can't. The black screen occurs before hitting fn+f8. Help?

Good point. Sorry, I misread your post.

I would agree about installing the BC drivers. But the Black Screen occurs before you can go into Safe Mode? Have you tried pressing the two keys together rapidly starting immediately after selecting the BootCamp partition?

Safe Mode goes to black screen

I get to the initial Safe Mode screen but when I hit enter I get a black screen. I don't have my XP setup disk with me or I'd do a disk repair. Can I reinstall the BC drivers in Parallels Safe Mode?

    You should be able to.
