Need Help with USB Serial Converter

Hi all,

Previously a PC guy here and need some help. I work with devices programming that use RS232 serial port, worked exclusively with PC programming so I am a stranger to Mac OS. My old PC used a FTDI USB serial port converter flawlessly.

Got myself a new Mac Book Pro few days ago and took advise from Apple Store sales purchasing Parallels Desktop 9 and Windows 8.1. Got the Windows up and running but it won't install FTDI chip driver properly in Windows. (www.ftdichip.com/FTDrivers.htm‎) To be exact, the D2XX driver installed ok but VCP is not. So in the device manager the COM ports driver are not installed properly (code 28).

I tried installing Mac version of driver and installed successfully but I still need the converter to work in Windows. Could someone please point me to the right direction?
