I use shared network mode. I often need to change cable ethernet to wifi and vice versa on host machine. In fact wifi is active all the time while cable is plugged or unplugged accordingly to needs. When cable is plugged again, most Windows applications react very smoothly and quickly reconnect while some stay disconnected, i.e. Outlook is not able to reconnect automatically to exchange server. I need to manually deactivate and activate guest network interface to make it reconnect. It is a huge disadvantage of Parallels for Mac. I own VMware Fusion too and it works flawlessly in this matter. Each time host interface is changed (i.e. cable plugged, unplugged) guest network interface is deactivated and activated again and all applications reconnect without problems. I'm looking for any workaround... although the best option would be to implement similar solution as VMware does.
