Running Win XP and Parallels 5600 on a MacBook Pro with 10.4
Also running Airport Extreme (n) for wireless network.

I need to add a Networked HP Color Laser CM1017 to my Win VM. The printer is not visible in the Add Printer setup.

Runs perfectly on the Mac side. I used Bonjour for XP and added the HP printer but it doesn't print.

Been trying all kinds of configurations - no luck. Any suggestions?

pg 274 has a typo in the Section header "Using F8 key in Windows Virtual
Machine on Mac Os Leioard" << maybe should be Leopard

Also, how does one figure out the revision of your User Guides?

Thanks for the tip John. I tried each of the three approaches. The USB approach worked when directly connected to the Printer. The Bonjour and Network approaches did not. I still don't see the printer in the Add Printer options and, although I see it and set it up in Bonjour, it is completely unresponsive. In fact - when I use the Bonjour option XP Apps say there is no printer installed. I have no visibility to the printer on the network. I even tried switching off Kapersky to see if the firewall was interfering.

FYI - network printing was working fine before I upgraded to Build 5600

Should also add that the HP printer is visible to other XP machines and a Vista Machine running on the same network. mac too is working fine.

Did you try to add printer manually as described in that guide - I mean in case of Shared Printer, if you are trying to add network printer, please check that Workstation service is running in VM, and client for Microsoft Network is bind to NIC, also try to temporary disable firewall and antivirus and check connection to Networked printer

I removed all printers and started from scratch. Downloaded and installed the HP Drivers which went to work, found the printer and set it all up.

Manual Add of Printer and Bonjour did not work even after tweaking some of the switches and parameters you suggested. I'm a happy camper for now. Until the printer breaks - anyway!
