I am upgrading my HD in a MacBook Pro, running 10.5.6. Everything is working fine now, but I wanted to start over from scratch with the new HD instead of using the apple migration tool. Do I need to deactivate Windows XP in some way before the upgrade, so it will activate without problems after the new HD is installed? Or will Windows recognize my computer even with a new HD? Thanks, greg
I would suggest to backup the virtual machine to some other place. External hard disk would be perfect in your case. The virtual machine is placed by default in /Users/<username>/Parallels/Documents/... This would be an .hdd file in 3.0 version and .pvm in 4.0. Just copy it and you would be able to restore it later. Also, I would suggest to register your Parallels at our site if you have not done so already, that would be important if you do not have the Parallels activation key on a box with you anymore and Parallels asks for it.
