Hi, I bought a MacBook Pro with TouchBar when they came out and got it pretty much maxed out with 16GB RAM and 2TB SSD at quite a hefty price, so imagine if you will my thoughts of "upgrading" to a new i9 MacBookPro with 6 cores and 32GB RAM. I use my MacBook Pro to run Parallels and frequently have multiple VMs running Windows Server OSs; typically Active Directory, Sql Server, and SharePoint Server. My present system is memory limited and obviously double the RAM would offer me more headroom, but I would be interested to know if I would be able to fully utilise the additional RAM and cores. Does anybody out there have any experience of using a new maxed out MacBook Pro with Parallels? Thanks in advance.
Hi @DesF, You can check out the maximum limit of RAM and CPU for various editions of Parallels Desktop here and Open the virtual machine configuration ( http://kb.parallels.com/117287 ) > go to Hardware > CPU and RAM -> Advanced Settings -> check "Extend memory unit" if you want to give a maximum resource to the virtual machine.
