I just installed 5262 and attempted to use my boot camp partition as my virtual machine.

Every time I try to start the virtual machine I get a kernal panic. It happens right when I am entering my password.

I looked over my documentation, does my boot camp partition need to be a specific format?

I tried the uninstall reinstall of parallels, although the reinstall appeared as if the uninstall wasn't really complete as I didn't need to go through the "select virtual hard disk option" screen after the reinstall, went straight to kernal panic.

I found the "How to handle errors occurred during the installation or upgrade of Parallels Desktop, creating or opening virtual machines, loading equipment required for guest OS" http://kb.parallels.com/en/4790 but didn't use it because I don't know how to work the terminal.

To use the terminal app, would I paste the whole batch of text listed in the article all at once, or one line then enter, one line them enter, etc? Is that something I should try?

    Thoughts appreciated
