I'm back functioning now, but here's what happened...

Got my new MB on Friday -- loving this thing!! Installed Parallels today then did a "Typical" install of WinXP. Everything went great, but when I went to do a Windows Update, I had no Internet connection.

Then when I checked the connection from Firefox and Safari on the OS X side, I had no connectivity from my Mac either. The Network Prefs showed green lights next to everything (even the Host-Guest and the other adapter that Parallels adds to the list), but I couldn't connect. The other strange thing is that I couldn't browse to my AEBS from the Airport Admin Utility.

Rebooted and no joy. In a panic, I uninstalled Parallels and STILL no joy. All the while, I was using my wife's iBook to surf the support forums so I know everything was working on my network.

I launched Safari and did the network troubleshooting and BANG - I was back online. I have no idea what happened or what was fixed.

    Here's what I have going on network-wise:

Comcast cable modem connected to AEBS. AEBS runs DHCP using 10.0.1.XXX addresses. My "Home" profile makes gives my MB a static IP at 10.0.1.201. I use a static IP because I have ports forwarded from my AEBS for Skype and BitTorrent. All of this was working flawlessly prior to installing Parallels.

I haven't tried to reinstall yet, so this could all be a nasty coincidence, but it seems unlikely. Given my networking situation, am I missing anything by doing a "typical" installation? I've searched around for a bit, but I've not seen anyone who has lost connection on BOTH the Windows and Mac side...

    Thanks in advance.

The issue has resolved on its own. I reinstalled Parallels and used the previously created winxp.hdd file and all is well. I have no idea what caused the issue above, I'm just glad things are working flawlessly now.
