There's one thing missing thou, how to uninstall PDM8, some PDM7 users are confused as they don't have the uninstaller anymore, I suggest that somewhere in these FAQs there's a reference to the uninstallation process for PDM8, as simple as it may be (drag the .app to the trash), the users of previous versions might get confused.

Actually, there's already one, just not linked here in this sticky post.

(The Terminal commands are not correct thou, as rm -rf "Parallels Desktop.app" without pointing to /Applications in the command or changing to this folder before issuing this command will result in not deleting the .app)

Audio quality and Video Sync issues in P8

I was told the audio driver issues were fixed in P8 as the P7 audio driver was terrible and could not be used if one exepcted to leverage Lync for comm or recording. I upgraded to P8 and guess what, audio still stinks and the recorded WMVs via Lync have out of sync audio and video. Ug. Can anyone help? I just upgraded because I was told by Parallels support that P8 fixed the terrible audio issues.

    Hi Mollie,

Thanks for posting in our forums. I would like to clarify one statement in your posting. Parallels Desktop 7 for Mac is compatible with Mountain Lion. While we have enhanced the new features and functionality of Parallels Desktop 8 with Mountain Lion, version 7 also is compatible. If you are having a specific issue with a program you are running after your upgrade, I am more than happy to see if we can assist in getting this resolved.

    Thanks,
    Chris

You also need to add something about how to fix problems when a machine uses Boot Camp - My upgrade created another virtual machine (Windows 7 1) and all my data from Windows and installed Windows programs were gone - not to be found again. Parallels needs to fix this and warn people about the problem.

    Hi John,

Do you see your data when you boot to BootCamp natively? Also could you send us a problem report: Help > Report a Problem (from Parallels menu) and post the ID here?

I never opened Boot Camp. The tech support person did and found nothing. Had multiple report IDs (1580764, 1572735, 1572075) and talked to multiple techs. No one can explain why the upgrade created a second virtual machine (Windows 7 1) which had no data nor can they explain why the data in the Windows 7 VM disappeared. Then they screwed up the refund. Not a good experience with Parallels.
