Hello! I'm new and trying 2X with pleasure. Everything seems to be working fine! I use version 5.1 on server and trying version 6 of windows client For now I have a few questions: 1. Is it possible to connect from 2x client as a "console" to TS 2003, like TS client can? 2. In a client window of version 6 (beta) is it possible to change a name of farm within a tree to something more readable than just a host to connect to? Instead of "123.123.123.56" to "Best solution farm"? Also, I didn't fully understand a licensing model! if I have 3 computers that run three applications that I want to publish (they can not work on the same machine) for 8 clients, i have to buy license for unlimited 3 servers or there are some other possibilites? And are there some educational licensing programs? Thank you!
Hi, 1. No, AFAIK you cannot connect to the console through 2X 2. I don't think you're supposed to run the v6 client in a production environment along with a v5 server About the license, if you're running 3 Terminal Servers, you'll need the Enterprise version for 3 servers, regardless of the amount of apps you're using. Only the servers count. Users/connections are always unlimited (except for the free version, which has a 5 concurrent conn. limit). Dennes
In Version 6 YES you can connect as console. Publish a desktop and in it settings enable "Connect to Console". Can I suggest that you add a DNS entry and make use of it. Regarding licenses I suggest you contact sales : sales@2x.com Nixu
