Ok, I am new and I find the documentation is kinda hard to read. What I need to know is the best way to get the web portal up and working and the 2x application to also work both on port 80. My Current Setup 2 2x application Server\Terminal Servers 1 2x app server with IIS installed On the server with IIS and App Console I moved under connection settings the 2x client Gateway to port 81 and under the advanced button under connections I moved the HTTP server port to 82. Reason I did this to get the web portal to work on port 80 per the docs it says By default this 2X Web Portal will be installed on port 81. Please note that 2X Client Gateway by default is installed on port 80 is configured to forward the HTTP requests to localhost on port 81. Therefore the Clients will still be able to access the 2X Web Portal from port 80. well if I do what the docs says does it mean that the url of [http://localhost/2XWebPortal/Logon.aspx] it does not work because I have to put in :81 to get it to work. Am I missing something on the App console on to get it to work on port 80 and the portal to work on 80. Again I know might sound stupid but, I guess my ultimate question is how do i get the Web portal to run on port 80 and also the App Console to work on port 80 therefore if I am at a location that does not allow outbound port 81 and only 80 they can get to my app server. I work for a school corp and trying to show other schools how I currently have it setup does not work very well to demo because of the port 81 not being allowed.
Hi jeffgdowns25, a fundamental point in the idea how 2x software works is, that the gateway use port 80. There is no way around and it makes sense. For this all other port settings need to be aranged. The web portal is set to port 81. The web server (IIS) needs to be set to a different port then 80, even 81 is fine. Except from the web server everything is done during the installation of the different 2x products (Application Server, Web Portal). The installation process is straight forward (Application Server - http://www.2x.com/applicationserver/as_ ... erver.html) (Web Portal - http://www.2x.com/applicationserver/as_ ... erver.html). The idea is, that the client just has to communicate via gateway (port 80). The gateway will handle to pass the request to the right port then.
