I have not had a mac in several years. I am using Parrallels 4.0.3522, and I am trying to install my copy (CD) of Win XP Pro. I have used this disc on my computer dozens of times. I have setup the virtual machine and am installing it, and it gets to a certain point, the same each time and stops and displays a message on the "status bar" stating "Parallels Tools are not installed." I try to install them from the Virtual Machine - Install Parallels Tools option, but nothing happens. From what I have read you have to have the Windows installed to install tools. Why won't my windows finish installing? Anything I can do? Also how to I remove a vm?
ajthornton, First of all, get the latest 3810 build: http://www.parallels.com/download/desktop/ This will hopefully fix the issue. Virtual machines can be delted by having it's window open and have the virtual machine stopped, and then going to File -> Delete... There you can choose, if you want to remove the VM completely, or just from the list of VM's.
ajthornton, No need to pay, since you already purchased Parallels Desktop 4, and new builds are free updates.
