Nikon camera showing up as MTP Portable Device; software can't communicate with camera.

The camera appears as a "MTP Portable Device" in my device manager under "Portable Devices." On my old windows laptop, it was always shown correctly as the "Nikon Z 6." It also worked perfectly with the same cable so I know that's not the issue.

When I uninstall the device in Device Manager and plug it back in, Device Manager sees it as a Nikon Z6 for a split second before it automatically refreshes the hardware list and reverts it back to a MTP Portable device.

I have tried installing the Nikon software on windows via parallels and they also do not "see" the camera. However, with a native copy of windows, they work just fine.

For testing purposes, I installed the macOS versions of the software and they work and connect to the camera no problem.

This must go back to how windows loads/assigns the drivers for the device when using Windows via Parallels. And ideas?
