    Hi all -

This is very frustrating. I just upgraded to Parallels 8 (running Windows on a Mac), and also bought a non-trial version of Windows 8 when it prompted me to for $119 or whatever it was. Ever since installing/upgrading both, any application I try to open is not visible.

For example, when I try to open Quickbooks, the Mac bar at the top just has "Quickbooks Application" as the first drop-down, and "View" as the next. Same for Notepad, etc... Basically, no Windows application will fully open or show itself.

    Any ideas?

    Hello natsturner ,

It seems like your Windows is in coherence mode. In this mode the virtual machine's desktop is invisible so that you can see the virtual machine's application windows in Mac OS X and work with them side by side with your Mac OS X applications.

To exit from coherence mode: Click the Parallels icon in the menu bar and choose Exit Coherence.

For more information about coherence mode, please refer: http://kb.parallels.com/4670
