I installed Vista Ultimate using Boot Camp 1.4 and a Parallels 3.0 on a new iMac. Networking when running Vista either way worked fine. After updating Parallels to 5160 I can still access the internet when running Vista under Parallels in Coherence, but can no longer access the internet when running Vista under Boot Camp.

Here's what I know and have tried. In Coherence both shared and bridged networking work , but I can't access the internet under either configuration using boot camp. Vista in Coherence or Boot Camp shows up as activated. I did have to reenter my product key after upgrading to 5160 (don't remember if I did that in Vista under Coherence or under Boot Camp.)

Network adapter in Coherence shows as the Parallels network adapter. In Boot camp I see the actual gigabyte hardware adapter, device manager in Vista says its working fine along with all the other hardware.

Diagnosing a connection problem says a cable might be unplugged, but not the case since networking in Mac OSX and Vista in Coherence are fine.

In Vista under boot camp, I see and am logged into my wireless network (I can tell its my wireless because of the SSID), but it reports I have only limited access. Very limited in fact, pointing IE to my router's IP address 192.168.1.1 or any other website is unsuccessful.

I have tried turning off the Parallels services and disable them from starting at startup, then rebooted using boot camp - still no luck.

In Vista under boot camp I just don't see any local area connections. my hunch is that something from parallels is blocking Vista from handling/seeing/using the network adapter, but i don't know what. I do have a system restore point from immediately before installing the Parallels 5160 update, but am loath to do this until other options exhausted (Previous experience with System Restore, shall we say, was less than ideal.)

Any suggestions will be much appreciated. Thanks.
