I have a laptop with a spyware/virus infection in the Parallels 7 VM, a windows 7 install there. I can't seem to get it to respond to anything I do before Windows finishes booting. That includes getting it to boot to a DVD instead of the hard drive, or getting it to boot to safe mode. I can get the startup options screen to show up, but no keyboard presses are registered when I do that. The computer is totally unreponsive in regular mode so that's a non-starter. I have to be able to boot to safe mode to get this cleaned. Am I doing something wrong? I've tried plugging in an external keyboard to no avail. Any tips?
Have you tried sending keyboard commands from the Devices menu -> Keyboard? Have you tried changing the boot order in the VM configuration so you can start from a DVD? Steve
